RIP Terry “SHOTGUN” Huddle

It is with great sadness, we announce the loss of our Texas Motocross family member Terry Huddle. Terry has been a part of the Freestone Raceway Family from the beginning. He was a good friend of The Miller family, serving as pallbearer to his buddy Tony Miller at his funeral. Terry was a familiar face at Freestone to the many generations of riders coming off the gate at our events. He and son Chris, worked the gate and finish line, while Vicky worked many positions in the tower over the years. In the world of moto, we form bonds in our sport that turn regular friends, into family. Terry was certainly part of our family at Freestone. He gained the nickname, “SHOTGUN HUDDLE’ from our motley crue of announcers, JP Parsons and Shand Garcia for his quick draw on the gate from the doghouse. Not only was Terry a familiar face in Amateur motocross, he was also a familiar face in AMA pro racing. He traveled and participated at many AMA pro racing events as well over the years. Terry joins Tony Miller and our friend, Lynn Nickerson in leaving a legacy of racing behind at Freestone County Raceway. We take comfort knowing that even in their absence, their presence forever remains in the thunder of every bike that hits the dirt at Freestone. Terry will be missed greatly by all who knew him. We will be holding a moment of silence in memory of Terry “SHOTGUN” Huddle both days at Rd 1 of the AMA Texas Winter Series, Jan 2nd-3rd.
