Weather Update: Rd 1 is a “GO”

January 2, 2015 (Wortham, Texas) – We are truly sorry if you did not read this on Wednesday but our new website did not transfer this message.  It’s OFFICIAL, Freestone Raceway has decided that Round 1 of the AMA Texas Winter Series is a “GO” for this weekend’s 15th year celebration.  Gate hours will now change to opening at 4pm on Friday.  Friday’s practice has been cancelled in order to keep the track sealed for Saturday’s youth day moto’s.

After looking at Weather.com, the forecast calls for rain on Thursday and Friday however each day only predicts 1/10th (0.09) of an inch with the light rain moving out on Saturday morning.  As many of you know Freestone Raceway and its dirt, this almost will water the track perfectly.

With so many of you coming from out-of-state hitting area practice tracks in Texas, we wanted to announce this as early as possible.  The Texas riders will be ready and waiting to do battle.  Is this ideal weather?  No but its motocross and the Freestone track crew is prepared to present the best track possible.

We talk about how the heat of the summer requires mental toughness, well so does the winter months.  So racers ……. head to Wal-Mart to buy those Hot Hand (TM) hand-warmers that slide into your gloves and get ready for the Largest, Richest, Roughest, Toughest, funnest New Year’s weekend ever.

You can either run with the BIG DOGS or play with the puppies on the porch!

1. Online Sign Up is open from Monday, December 15th through
Tuesday, December 30, 2014 (11:00pm).

2. Online Pre-Registration gives you the option to pay by Visa,
MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
3. Registration (race weekend) accepts Visa, MasterCard,
Discover and American Express or cash only. NO CHECKS.
4. To “finalize” race entry, Pre-Entry riders (to include
parent/guardian/authorized adult if rider is a minor) MUST check
in at Registration (Scoring Tower) to sign releases and get
practice sticker before you will be allowed to practice or race.
5. 2 notarized parental consent statements are needed for
guardian/authorized adult to sign releases for minor.
6. ALL RIDERS must be present at registration wearing wristband
to register, sign releases and get practice sticker before you will
be allowed on track to practice or race.
7. Riders “MUST” bring last 4 digits of VIN of every bike competing on when registering.

o Side x Side – MUST have Valid DL to operate vehicle.
o Scooter & Bicycles with Helmet.
o All Permitted Pit Vehicles must be parked for the night by 10:00pm.
