July 28, 2015 (Wortham, Texas) – Freestone Raceway is proud to announce the renewal agreement with James Stewart Jr. for the 6th Annual James Stewart AMA Spring Championship presented by Parts Unlimited/Thor featuring the AMA Women’s MX Cup and the WMX Series on March 15-19, 2016.
Freestone Raceway played host to the Lucas Oil Pro nationals from 2007 to 2012 and was known as one of the toughest, most demanding tracks on the pro scene. Since 2011, the James Stewart Spring Championship features the top amateurs in the country to compete against the best. It also gives riders from the Texas and abroad to see the level of support the industry has to offer.
The Freestone Spring Championship is unique in nature for offering every rider their 1st moto gate pick based on their fastest lap during “timed practice”. However, that’s not all that is unique. Even though the event of over, the second treat comes 8 months later when every class champion from the Spring Championship will receive a special invitation to join James Stewart at his house in Haines City, Florida for the “Champions Ride Day” in November.
