December 9, 2013 (Wortham, Texas) – As sure as the Geese fly south for the winter, a Texas tradition in motocross continues with the opening of “Online Registration” for Round 1 of the 14th Annual Honda of Houston/FMF AMA Texas Winter Series at Freestone Raceway on Saturday and Sunday, December 28th and 29th. Last year’s Texas Winter Series had riders from 26 different states plus Canada and Mexico competing against the top riders from Texas and the 2014 series will be no exception. Get signed up today and not only save $5 your first entry, but save $10 for each additional class.
The traditional Saturday/Sunday split format for youth and big bike classes inspires more competitive classes starting on Saturday with the new 65-85 Beginner 7-11 and Mini Sr Beginner 12-15 classes. An all new 50cc class structure offers new age group classes including the 51cc 4-5 and 51cc 6-7 along with the traditional 51cc 4-6, 7-8 and Open 4-8. This gives 4 to 6 year old’s a second class without forcing those riders to compete in the Open class.
Sunday’s racing will be headlined by AMA Pro Am racing offering Experts a total of $15,000 in purse over the five rounds. Sunday’s also offer new class structures for the 250 Novice riders with the 250 C 12-16 and 250 17+. The 250 C 12-16 will reduce the likelihood of division racing and the 250 C 17+ will offer Collegeboy and Vet Novices who ride 250’s an opportunity to compete in another class without having to compete with the younger kids. The Vet class structure has also opened up to allow riders to compete in multiple classes.
