Minors Consent

REGARDING MINORS and Guardianship over MINORS

To eliminate the possibilty of being turned away at any event. Please read AMA rules regarding BOTH parents signing minor releases at events. You can read the AMA standards as well as apply for an annual release card that BOTH parents will need to sign HERE.  You will then bring that card, along with your current AMA card to registration when signing your minor release. Please be aware if you do not have BOTH parents there to sign and do not have your copy of your minor release along with your AMA card, you run the risk of being turned away.

Per AMA:

Per Sections 1.1, 2.1 and 3.1, “No rider under the legal age of majority in the state in which the meet takes place may compete without the written consent (signature on liability releases and entry forms) of their parents or legal guardians present at the meet. An authorized adult acting on behalf of the parents or legal guardians must provide a notarized statement indicating they have been given the authority by the parent or legal guardian to be responsible for the minor during the meet. All releases and notarized statements must be forwarded to the AMA with the referee report and/or injury report. The parents, legal guardians or authorized adult must remain present while the AMA member who they are responsible for is at the meet.”

Do BOTH parents need to sign the Minors release form?

Per AMA:

Yes, both parents or guardians are required to sign the electronic forms, unless one parent or guardian has legal sole custody of the minor racer.

THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

All minor riders under the age of 18 attending an event at Freestone County Raceway, Freestone Raceway or Miller Ranch must have BOTH parents present or an appointed guardian/authorized adult with notarized statement from  BOTH parents or legal guardian giving permission for another adult (this includes step-parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, brothers, sisters, grandparents, etc.) to act as authorized adult indicating they have been given the authority to be responsible for the minor and to be able to sign releases for minor in order to compete, practice or participate in any activities at Freestone County Raceway.  The parents, legal guardian or authorized adult must remain present on the premises while the minor in question he/she is responsible for is at the event.  All persons with minor signing any release must be prepared to show proof of identity and guardianship.

Two notarized statements are needed … one to file with the event clerk at registration and the other to be kept with guardian/authorized adult for their own records or needs.

If you are a guardian/authorized adult, please present your notarized document at registration.
